A master’s thesis published in collaboration with Campana & Schott has made it directly to the Top Ten of the best new publications in « Social Science Research Network” (SSRN). It carries quite a few surprises! Traditional shared workspaces still outperform more recent technologies. New social collaborative technologies are not yet well accepted by PM Professionals…

The work is entitled « Social Collaboration in Project Work: An Exploratory Empirical Analysis of Benefits and Technologies”, by Philipp Floesser and Simon Caton, both from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Henner Gimpel from the University of Augsburg, and Jennifer Schaefer, Senior Consultant at Campana & Schott, dealing with current developments in social collaboration in project management.
The results are based among other things on expert interviews, quantitative surveys and empirical studies of the most important social collaboration technologies. The work shows that it is a worthwhile investment for companies to develop their needs in social collaboration, and to choose or develop an appropriate social collaboration system.
