Mercredi 1 – PMI UK Webinar – Project Data Analytics Webinar: Using AI to manage the human side of projects
Little attention is given to the effect of humans in and on projects. Traditionally data is captured on the cost, schedule, resources and the many other types now common in project management. Kelvin McGrath, the Founder of MeetingQuality will share insights into how data on the quality of relationships, perceptions of success, emotion and multiple other types can be captured easily and continuously from project team members, governance body members and stakeholders. Trend analysis and AI can then provide you with the information and insight you need to make critical decisions. This is particularly important when working practices are transforming and success must still be guaranteed. Kelvin will illustrate this with case studies to enable you to understand the art of the possible and the opportunity to fundamentally improve the way in which we deliver projects.

Vendredi 3 – Webinar – PMI – Projects or #noprojects? What is the Agile way?
The work « project » is often used as a synonym of « waterfall », « command and control, » and in general everything that is old and unnecessary. Some even use the term « Scrum project », expanding the role of the Scrum Master to a mini Project Manager. The tag, #noprojects, in combination with other « #no » like « #noestimates » is sometimes used as an excuse for lack of planning, documentation, and discipline. This webinar is an analysis of the « #noprojects » concept, presenting Stelian ROMAN‘s view and experience with projects and a less governed approach to delivery. He explores the relationship between project and product development and the challenges of growing from a small team of « developers » to the real enterprise level

Vendredi 3 – APMG Webinar – Reducing resistance to Agile methods
One of the most common causes of resistance to adopting an Agile approach is a lack of understanding of the business benefits of Agile approaches.
Some of the greatest push-back comes from the concept of the evolving solution. To those who have little exposure to Agile methods, an evolving solution appears threatening. They are being asked to commit the money and resources to an unknown deliverable. There is fear that the Agile initiative, with its sprints and increments, is never-ending. One director recently queried if I was asking for an “open cheque book”.
In this webinar, presenter Melanie Franklin will address the challenges put forward by those resisting change. She will give examples of how she has overcome these and gained support from all levels within organizations for a move towards agile, adaptive practices.
Lundi 6 – Webinar – PMI – A Professional Approach to Working at Home
You may be required to work at home given the continued spread of the covid-19. There is little doubt that is putting remote work to the biggest stress-test ever. Clearly, it is taking place at unprecedented scale. It has been in the news night after night and not likely to change anytime soon. Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Microsoft have all been taking part, and the list continues to grow. Based on the latest briefings and news reports, this trend will progress for weeks, if not months. A few surveys of employees that work at home feel they are just as productive as they were when they went into the office. Some actually feel they should work more given they do not have commute time and expense.

Jeudi 9 – Webinar – PMI – Projectize: 4-Step Rapid Project Planning
I’ve burned a lot of time – and career currency – trying to create that perfect project plan and I can tell you for a fact that those plans did not eat that first punch any better than plans created in much less time.

Mercredi 15 – Webinar – PMI – Time Management for Those Who Don’t Have Any
We are each given twenty four hours eachday – with the exception of frequent fliers who sometimes get more, and sometimes get less, depending on whether they’re flying East or West. It’s a rare individual who has more time than they need. Most of us would willingly buy more time if such a thing were possible, but we can’t… so? How do we use what we have as efficiently as possible?
If you have time to watch this presentation, then the chances are pretty good you don’t need to do so. But if you don’t have the time to watch, you really should!

Vendredi 17 – Webinar – PMI – Extreme Programming (XP) Revisited – Lessons learned from XP’s demise
XP, aka Extreme programming, was the first Agile Framework widely used after the publication of the Agile Manifesto. Focused on software development, XP was the beginning of the Agile revolution in software project management.

In XP, the Project Manager is not seen as an enemy of the agile development team, and traditional roles are still present. Very popular in the early 2000s, XP basically disappeared from the Agile landscape and ‘survives’ by some of its practices which are (mis)used by frameworks that adopted them. This webinar relays the author’s experience with the success of XP in a ‘perfect storm’ environment: a software company developing a complex and innovative product when porting a legacy system to C# by a team of analyst programmers working closely with the users under the supervision of a ‘command and control’ Project Manager. The webinar will also describe the lessons learned in the journey to Scrum and then hybrid projects.

Per the Agile Business Consortium, business agility allows businesses to adapt quickly to market changes; respond rapidly and flexibly to customer demands; adapt and lead change in a productive and cost-effective way without compromising quality; and continuously be at a competitive advantage. The primary reason for moving to Agile is to achieve faster business value and keep you ahead of the competition. Agile is built for change – fundamentally, it is about creating Business Agility. It enables the enterprise to deliver projects more efficiently, with relentless focus on business value and providing the highest return on investment. Whether it is a software project, a new service offering or a new product, Agile’s 12 principles and 3 pillars (transparency, inspection, adaptation) are designed to reduce money spent on undesirable or unusable features which were built based on outdated requirements.

Mercredi 29 – Webinar – Agile Alliance – Innovation by Sharing: How Your Company can Benefit by Reaching Out
At first sight, you might think sharing your learning would prevent you from being the number one in your industry, but the challenges we’re facing right now can only be addressed (quickly) together. Thus, being secretive and focusing on itself inhibits a company from being innovative. In a sense, your company needs to be influenced by outside ideas! A company, especially if it claims to be Agile, is expected to be aware of its ecosystem. Otherwise, it will be viewed as untrustworthy, and distrust will undermine all aspects of the business (including finding clients and talent).
