Lessons Learned in a Start-up: In principle Lean (eliminate waste by process standardization) is fundamentally opposed to Agile (embracing change even late in the process). Six Sigma can be the balance between Lean and Agile, measuring the impact of Lean and/or Agile initiatives. Based on a real case study, using Lean Six Sigma’s Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) process to make the Scrum process more efficient in a software start-up.

The objective is for you to be able to identify the signs of diminishing resilience, and how to turn the tide before it derails your project. In this presentation, Prof. B. Weibel will highlight some of the aspects of leadership during successful business transformations. The explosion of a gasoline train in the Zurich Affoltern as well as a chemical accident in the railway station of Lausanne made for Weibel this year’s the blackest in his career. He ordered a comprehensive safety program for the entire company.
